GigaTux offers fantastic value for money, reliable hosting solutions, with a specialism in providing virtual private servers (VPS). Our products, whilst being very affordable, are reliable and we do not cut any corners when it comes to providing a decent service. We have been established since February 2007 and have proven that reliability need not come with a high price.

Our proven expertise is with Linux and we offer services and support using a wide variety of Linux distributions. We understand that each customer's needs vary, and can offer hosting solutions with your choice of distribution and with varying, but generous, amounts of memory, hard disk space and bandwidth.

Shared servers from £10 per month

GigaTux provides Linux virtual servers running on Intel Core 2 Quad (quad core) or Core 2 Duo (dual core) hardware from £9.99 per month. More importantly than the underlying architecture, we proactively ensure that system resources are allocated fairly and each user has access to a very responsive system.

Our base VPS solution gives you full root access on a Linux system 20GB hard drive space and 100GB data transfer per month, with 128MB RAM dedicated to you. We also offer more powerful accounts with more space, RAM and data transfer for a higher, but still competitive price. The virtualisation is performed using Xen, a well proven solution for efficiently partitioning servers.

With a GigaTux VPS, you can perform any tasks you would be able to do with a standard Linux system, including, but not limited to:

  • Hosting websites, mail server, DNS etc.
  • Providing a VPN or proxy service1
  • Cheap online storage facility
  • Experimenting with a variety of Linux installations, including Debian, CentOS, Turnkey Linux and Gentoo.

Please note that our packages are subject to availability, although we presently have capability to host any standard VPS package.

We are Linux specialists, having used a variety of distributions day in, day out for many years. We are able to provide your virtual server account set up with the distribution of your choice. We are presently able to cover most popular distributions, including Debian (our recommended server distribution), CentOS, Ubuntu, Fedora Core and Gentoo. If you prefer another Linux distribution that is freely available, please let us know as it's more than likely that we'll be able to set up your system using the distribution of your choice.
